
A viral fight at a Shah Alam restaurant was triggered by a smoking reprimand, with police now tracking down those involved in the assault
SHAH ALAM: A reprimand over smoking is believed to have triggered a brawl at a nasi kandar restaurant in Bandar Rimbayu.
The incident, which occurred on April 15, has since gone viral on social media.
Kuala Langat district police chief Supt Mohd Akmalrizal Radzi said preliminary investigations point to a misunderstanding.
He stated the situation escalated after one person was told not to smoke in the area.
“The situation escalated into a fight, with both sides assaulting each other,” he said in a statement.
Police are now actively tracking down all individuals involved in the physical altercation.
The case is being investigated under Section 160 of the Penal Code for committing affray.
Mohd Akmalrizal urged the public to come forward with any information related to the incident.
He asked them to contact the Kuala Langat district police headquarters operations room or the nearest police station.
