A soap star has described how she fell pregnant as a teenager after a relationship with a 55-year-old married man.
Natalie Bassingthwaighte, who played Izzy Hoyland in Neighbours from 2003 to 2007, discussed the relationship during an appearance on the Inherited Podcast.
The actor, who was 19 at the time, said that the moment the man’s wife confronted her was “the worst day of my life”.
“The hardest part was feeling deceitful because I've always felt like that's not who I am as a person to the core,” she said.
Bassingthwaighte, now 50, explained that she fell pregnant before later suffering a miscarriage.
