Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Oil and Gas Development Corporation Sdn Bhd (SOGDC) has refuted recent social media allegations regarding sand supply to investors and tenants at the Sipitang Oil and Gas Industrial Park (Sogip).
In a statement on Monday, the state-owned developer clarified that it does not dictate, direct, or determine the appointment of sand suppliers, with procurement conducted independently by respective tenants and their contractors.
As Sogip’s developer and landowner, SOGDC stated its role is strictly to facilitate project implementation while requiring all operators to comply fully with applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
The corporation stressed that it does not condone or support material procurement from unauthorised sources, reiterating its commitment to upholding compliance, integrity, and good governance.
Denouncing claims that it facilitated illegal sand suppliers as false, unfounded, and malicious, SOGDC added that it reserves all legal rights regarding the circulation of misleading statements.
