Solomon joins PVL Rookie Draft

FORMER NU Lady Bulldogs standout Alyssa Solomon has officially declared for the 2026 Premier Volleyball League Rookie Draft.

Despite drawing multiple offers overseas, Solomon opted to return home and pursue a professional career in the Philippines, as confirmed by her management team, Hustle and Groove.

The 24-year-old opposite hitter recently completed a stint in Japan’s SV.League, suiting up for Osaka Marvelous. During the 2025–2026 season, she played 30 matches and tallied 147 points, posting a 31.8-percent success rate while averaging 12.5 block points before her contract ended on March 31.

Standing at 6-foot-1, Solomon has also been a key pillar for Alas Pilipinas, helping the national squad secure a historic silver medal in the 2025 AVC Nations Cup.

A three-time UAAP champion, Solomon shared all her collegiate titles with fellow standout Bella Belen, now with the Capital1 Solar Spikers. She now looks to bring her winning pedigree into the PVL as she searches for her new home team.

Joining her in the upcoming draft pool are fellow top prospects: NU setter Camille Lamina, University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses libero Detdet Pepito, and UP Fighting Maroons middle blocker Nina Ytang.
