
TAMBUNAN: A 56-year-old woman was found dead with injuries believed to have been caused by a sharp weapon at a rented house in Kampung Katagayan on Friday.
Keningau District Police Chief Supt Erwansyah Abdul Nasir said police received a report at about 2pm and subsequently traced the victim’s 31-year-old son.
The man was detained by villagers at a sulap in Kampung Sukung before being taken to the Tambunan Police Station, where police formally arrested him.
Police also seized several items believed to be linked to the incident, while the victim’s body was sent to hospital for a post-mortem.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code, with the motive still being investigated.
