SOOK: The District Sports Complex will be constructed this year through additional allocations from the State Government, said Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Ellron Angin.
He said the project is expected to have a significant impact on the development of local sports and recreational facilities for the community in the district.
“The availability of the complex will allow for more systematic organisation of tournaments, whether at school-level or beyond, and is likely to encourage greater participation in the future,” he said.

Also present were SK Tulid Headmaster and Championship Chairperson Salim Linggi, Headmasters and Senior Assistant Teachers from 10 primary schools in the Trusmadi Zone, and SK Tulid PIBG President, Joki Tanggulon.
He thanked the organisers for the invitation and their efforts in holding the annual event, which he described as an excellent platform for building students’ character from an early age.
According to him, early involvement in sports not only instils strong discipline but also fosters sportsmanship and positive values among students.
“Sports is not just about physical and mental health, it also builds self-confidence, creativity, and innovation among pupils. These are essential elements in producing holistic human capital, as outlined by the Ministry of Education,” he said.
He added that the Trusmadi Zone is one of the largest zones in the Keningau district.
At the same time, Ellron congratulated all school administrators and Parent-Teacher Associations (PIBG) for their commitment in ensuring the success of the championship.
He also emphasised the importance of continued parental support in encouraging children to participate in co-curricular activities, as a means to nurture students who are both mentally alert and physically active.
