Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl joked Armel Bella-Kotchap has a "big chance for getting famous" after his performance against Manchester United.
The 20-year-old defender was excellent despite United's 1-0 win at St. Mary's.
"He's full of self-confidence. I can see," Hasenhuttl said on Bella-Kotchap, via the Daily Echo. "He wants to show up in the Premier League and it's good to see that he has this habit.
"This attitude and this is what we need. And then there was a big chance for getting famous today also because when he almost scored. Next time, maybe!"
On his partnership with Mohamed Salisu, Hasenhuttl added: "From the first game they played together it looked committed and very solid. It's not easy to play against these guys and this gives me a lot of hope for the future.
"The understanding is there, and we have a 20-year-old goalkeeper. The average age is not that high but you can see they are serious and solid."
