Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl considers Gavin Bazunu his number one goalkeeper.
The 20-year-old, signed from Manchester City this summer, started in last Saturday's loss to Tottenham.
Asked about Bazunu ahead of Saturday's clash with Leeds United, Hasenhuttl reiterated: “I think I spoke before the season. We signed him to become the future number one for us.
“We have with Alex, a goalkeeper who is proven in the Premier League and was long out with an injury. We wanted to give Gavin with his potential immediately a chance to show up, to play.
“As I said, we have goalkeepers that we both trust that they can play in the Premier League. At the moment Gavin is our number one."
Hasenhuttl added: “He's going in the games and I'm sure that he will have a big impact in this club in the future."
