Southampton have sought to open talks with Manchester City for fullback Issa Kabore.
Kabore spent last season with City's French partners Troyes, where he impressed.
The Burkina Faso international made 31 appearances for Troyes as they beat the drop following last summer's promotion.
The Daily Mail says Saints have opened talks with City about a loan deal for Kabore.
The defender is also interesting Nottingham Forest.
