Small Brand, Big Success
As a fast-growing small home appliances brand, Simplus has emerged as a top brand on TikTok, Shopee, and Lazada. While some may think it is this very social media presence in particular that contributed to the growth of the brand, there is far more to it than that.
The company achieved profitability last year and has a 50 to 60 percent Net Promoter Score (NPS) across Southeast Asia. This is no small feat and it took very smart planning from the start of the year all the way to the end of last year to achieve.
The Boss
Led by co-founder and CEO Jack Zhang, an e-commerce veteran and former CEO of Lazada Thailand, Simplus focuses on localising small home appliances to meet the needs of the region’s consumers. It also offers high-quality products at affordable prices, with the slogan “Simple Life, Affordable Price.”
On top of that, some of its most popular items include its signature high-speed hair dryers, easy-to-use air fryers, high-quality vacuums and mops. This diversity in its product portfolio also played a huge role in the huge success this small brand achieved last year.
Big Online Presence
During the ‘Double 11’ shopping festival in 2023, Simplus also ranked number one on TikTok and number two behind Philips on Shopee’s top brands in small home appliances and achieved a record-breaking USD1 million (about RM4.77 million) in sales on a single day.
