Spain’s World Cup trophy parade – everything you need to know

  • Spain will celebrate their second-ever World Cup title with an open-top bus parade through Madrid after beating Argentina 1-0 in the final.
  • Ferran Torres scored the extra-time winner, while Rodri won the Golden Ball, Pau Cubarsi was named young player, and Unai Simon received the Golden Glove.
  • The team's plane is due to land at Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport at 2.30pm on Monday, with the parade starting at 7pm local time (6pm BST).
  • Before the parade, the team will be greeted by King Felipe VI at the Royal Palace of Zarzuela and then by prime minister Pedro Sanchez at Moncloa Palace.
  • The parade will conclude at Cibeles Palace, with a festival-style main stage hosting musical performances and the presentation of the world champions to hundreds of thousands of fans.
