Karnal District Civil Hospital has started specialised Orthodontics (Braces and Teeth Alignment) services for patients suffering from irregularly placed teeth, gaps between teeth, bite problems and jaw alignment issues.
Civil Surgeon Dr Poonam Chaudhary dedicated this facility on Wednesday and highlighted its importance for the general public.
“The new service will provide consultation and treatment for children, adolescents and adults requiring orthodontic care. This initiative will enable patients to access specialised dental treatments within the district, reducing the need to visit higher centres,” said Dr Chaudhary.
As per the authorities, it is a costly treatment if done outside. A private doctor charges around Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000 or more, varying across different doctors, however, cost for the same at Karnal’s Civil Hospital will be the same as PGIMS Rohtak, which is Rs 3000. Employees are liable to receive free treatment.
Dr Poonam said that the Civil Hospital administration remains committed to strengthening healthcare services and providing quality dental care to the people.
“Timely check-ups, oral hygiene and oral cancer screening are all important practices that people should undergo,” she added.
She also highlighted that the start of this new facility is a major step towards specialised dental care at an affordable price.
