Spider-Man: Brand New Day will become the first film in the Spider-Man franchise to be produced using CJ 4DPLEX’s new “Shot for SCREENX” initiative, creating a version of the movie specifically designed for the immersive 270-degree cinema format.
The project marks the first collaboration between Sony Pictures, filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton and CJ 4DPLEX from the production stage through to theatrical exhibition. Rather than adapting footage after filming, the ScreenX experience was planned and captured during production to create an expanded viewing experience tailored to the format.
SCREENX extends selected scenes beyond the main cinema screen onto the side walls of the auditorium, surrounding audiences with panoramic visuals designed to place viewers at the centre of the action.
Swinging Into Action

According to director Destin Daniel Cretton, the production team worked directly with CJ 4DPLEX on set to capture footage intended specifically for ScreenX screenings, offering audiences a version of the film unavailable in standard formats.
The film follows Peter Parker as he continues his life as Spider-Man in a world that no longer remembers his identity. As he struggles to balance crime-fighting with the reality of watching his former friends move on, he faces a new threat that could put both the city and those closest to him at risk.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando and Mark Ruffalo. The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and written by Chris McKenna, Erik Sommers and Justin Kuritzkes, based on the Marvel comic created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko.
In Malaysia, the ScreenX version of the film will be available exclusively at Golden Screen Cinemas’ ScreenX locations at Aurum Theatre, The Exchange TRX, and GSC 1 Utama. Advance tickets for the ScreenX presentation are now on sale, with screenings set to form part of the film’s theatrical release in select cinemas worldwide.
