Edwin van der Sar has made positive progress in his recovery from a bleed on the brain.
The former Manchester United and Ajax goalkeeper is in Croatia recovering after being admitted into a local hospital on Friday.
The hospital in Split has offered an update on Van der Sar's condition, and there is good news.
"He is stable. He is currently under observation with us. Our doctors believe that everything will be fine.
"He communicates normally and even greets everyone who cares about his health. We do not think that an operation will be needed," a spokesperson from the hospital told Croatian 24SATA.
