The Spurs’ 103-82 win over Oklahoma City in Game 4 was not just a statement. It showed how effective they can be when everything clicks.
Victor Wembanyama led the way with 33 points, while the Thunder were clearly missing key contributors, including Jalen Williams and Ajay Mitchell.
But the game also carried Gregg Popovich’s fingerprints. De’Aaron Fox revealed that the Spurs legend challenged the locker room after Game 3, and the response was clear.
San Antonio Spurs hold Oklahoma City Thunder to a scoring low not seen for years

According to ESPN, Oklahoma City’s 82 points in Game 4 marked the first time they had been held under 90 in any regular-season or postseason game since April 2022.
The playoff comparison was even more striking, as the last time the Thunder scored fewer than 90 points in a postseason game was in August 2020.
That underlined just how locked in the Spurs were on defence. OKC shot just 33 per cent from the field and went 6-of-33 from beyond the arc.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 19 points, but without Williams and Mitchell, the Thunder lacked the extra creation needed to loosen San Antonio’s pressure.
The result was about more than taking advantage of absences. The Spurs played with force, discipline and clarity after being challenged behind closed doors.
The series heads back to Oklahoma City tied at 2-2, but Game 4 sent a clear message: the Spurs can put the champions under real pressure.
