The count of flood victims seeking refuge at 103 relief centers across four states witnessed a marginal change, as per the latest morning report from the National Disaster Management Agency's National Disaster Command Centre. The total number stood at 23,008 individuals, just three fewer than the 23,011 reported at midnight.

Kelantan continued to host the largest contingent of evacuees, with 19,716 individuals spread across 53 relief centers in four districts. The breakdown indicated that Pasir Mas accommodated 15,586 people from 5,102 families across 30 centers, while Kuala Krai housed 734 individuals from 206 families in 11 centers. Furthermore, Tumpat housed 3,231 people from 1,147 families in 10 centers, and Tanah Merah had 165 individuals from 41 families in two centers, all as of 6 am.

In Terengganu, the number of evacuees decreased slightly to 3,022 across 37 relief centers this morning, down from 3,025 in the same number of centers at midnight. This affected areas including Dungun, Hulu Terengganu, Kemaman, Kuala Terengganu, Marang, and Setiu.

Johor maintained an unchanged count of 63 evacuees from 16 families at three relief centers in Segamat. Similarly, Pahang's evacuation figures remained steady, with 207 individuals from 60 families hosted at 10 relief centers in Bera, Jerantut, Kuantan, Maran, Rompin, and Temerloh.

Moreover, the relief center established in Cameron Highlands, Pahang, designed to shelter those displaced due to a landslide, continued to host 87 individuals from 17 families.

As of 6 am, the report highlighted the precarious levels of several rivers in Kelantan and Terengganu, including Sungai Golok Pasir Mas, Sungai Kelantan Gua Musang, Sungai Kelantan Kota Bharu, and Sungai Terengganu Setiu, all teetering at the danger point. This situation underscores the ongoing challenges faced in these areas due to the flooding.

Bernama reported the status quo in the number of evacuees, but the situation regarding river levels underscores the persisting risk and challenges faced by these communities in these flood-affected regions.
