Kota Kinabalu: Parti Solidariti Tanahairku (Star Sabah) echoes the concern of the Sabah and Sarawak Chapters of CSO Platform for Reform that the proposed amendment on citizenship will adversely affect the indigenous people of Sabah and Sarawak.

Its Vice President Datuk Kenny Chua said there are indigenous people in the two regions who are still stateless or holding MyPR instead of MyKad.

“I insist that the Federal Government take a serious look on this matter because the effect will be adverse on them.

“As far as we’re concerned, they are Sabahans born in Sabah. They just did not have access to obtain documentation because many are living in remote areas,” he said.
