Kota Kinabalu: The Federal Government’s promises under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) are nothing more than recycled pledges aimed at winning votes, said Star information chief Anuar Ghani (pic).
He said Sabahans were not impressed by last-minute announcements of large allocations, describing them as political tactics rather than genuine acts of development.
Anuar said the real test of Putrajaya’s sincerity lies in fulfilling Sabah’s constitutional rights under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63), particularly the 40 per cent net revenue entitlement that remains unsettled.
He added that 13MP had also failed to clearly address Sabah’s recurring flood crisis, with billions needed for proper mitigation while only short-term relief continues to be offered.
He said the coming state election would be a referendum on Sabah’s right to financial autonomy and justice after decades of unfulfilled promises.
