Hollywood’s elite dazzled on the red carpet at the 98th Academy Awards, embracing spring colours and timeless black-and-white styles.

HOLLYWOOD: Hollywood’s best and brightest stars hit the red carpet for the 98th Academy Awards on Sunday. The movie industry’s biggest night showcased a range of glamorous looks, from vibrant spring hues to classic monochrome.

Best actress favourite Jessie Buckley looked regal in a red Chanel off-the-shoulder bodice and flowing pink ball skirt. She is nominated for her portrayal of William Shakespeare’s grief-stricken wife in “Hamnet”.

Chase Infiniti, who stars in “One Battle After Another”, oozed glamour in a lilac sleeveless Louis Vuitton dress with a cascade of ruffles. Veteran director Spike Lee added a bright purple hat and bow tie to his neutral ensemble.

In the black-and-white category, best actress nominee Rose Byrne wore a strapless black Dior gown covered in white blooms. She told ABC her film “If I Had Legs I’d Kick You” was an “examination of parenthood”.

Emma Stone, nominated for “Bugonia”, rocked a shimmering white Louis Vuitton floor-length gown. Teyana Taylor wore a black and white feathered sleeveless Chanel gown with a sheer panel.

The red carpet also featured hockey stars, both real and fictional. “Heated Rivalry” star Hudson Williams rocked an all-black Balenciaga ensemble with a glittering brooch. He has been ubiquitous since the gay hockey love story series went viral.

Team USA’s gold medal-winning women’s ice hockey stars Hilary Knight and Hannah Bilka were also ready for their closeup. They joined the Hollywood celebration at the Dolby Theatre.
