
Kota Kinabalu: The State Para powerlifters clinched two gold, one silver and two bronze medals at the Para-Powerlifting Circuit One Championship held at the Paralympic Excellence Centre Kampung Pandan, Kuala Lumpur recently.
The two golds were won by Francis Xavier Kinjin and Minuil Limbas who also delivered one bronze, while the silver came from Abdul Khamis Laharuso and the other bronze from Willibrord Justin.
Pesron Sabah (Sabah Sports and Recreation Association for People with Disabilities) president Tan Hwa Koon was delighted with the performance and hopes all the Para athletes will continue to train hard for the Para-Sukma Games scheduled to be held in Kuala Lumpur in November.
Earlier, the State Para swimmers also did well by winning the overall title at the MAS/NSC/Milo Para Swimming 2022 - National leg 2 Championship.
They set 10 meet records to win a total of 22 gold, six silver and six bronze medals to claim the crown from Selangor who only managed 18 golds, 12 silvers and 12 bronzes.
