State polls: Shahidan leaves it to PN’s leadership whether to nominate him or not

KUALA LUMPUR – To contest or not to contest – Arau MP Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim says he leaves it to the Perikatan Nasional (PN) highest leadership to decide his candidacy in the upcoming state elections.

The former Perlis Menteri Besar said he would accept a nomination from the coalition for any seat, including Selangor.

"What matters now is that I will assist the PN machinery in this election."

"When it comes to positions, I am satisfied because I have held many positions before, including being Menteri Besar," he said on Saturday.

He made the remarks while speaking to the media at the Furama Hotel in Kuala Lumpur for the Malaysian Malay Chamber of Commerce (DPMM) conference.
