Station loader intercepted with marijuana at NAIA screening checkpoint

MANILA, Philippines — Security personnel at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 arrested a 28-year-old station loader for possession of marijuana.

The airport worker was caught on Tuesday, May 12, with 0.5 grams of dried leaves believed to be marijuana at the Terminal 3 North Gate 101 Security Screening Checkpoint.

According to the PNP - Aviation Security Group (Avsegroup), the suspect was intercepted after an airport security screener at the checkpoint discovered a small red pouch concealed around his waist.

A physical check of the revealed the suspected drugs and paraphernalia.

Authorities seized one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing approximately 0.5 grams of marijuana leaves, with an estimated street value of P60.00.

Two improvised pipes and two employee identification cards bearing the suspect's name were also confiscated.
