‘Still your President’: Trump had such a bad election night that his spokesman had to send a reminder

Donald Trump had such a bad election night that his spokesman had to send a reminder that he is still president for the next two years.

As Democrats handed Republicans a crushing defeat in the midterms, White House Communications Director Steven Cheung wrote on X, “Donald J. Trump is the President of the United States. Still your President!”

Cheung’s post was met with mockery as people on social media called Trump a lame duck.

“Lame duck president for the next 2 years,” one X user wrote. “Steven demonstrating exactly why MAGA died tonight.”

“Can’t spin this one. Everyone hates what you guys are doing,” Tim Fullerton, CEO and co-founder of the progressive outlet Find Out Media, commented.

“He just lost Congress. Many people are saying it was one of the worst losses for a president in history. He’s a lame duck now!” a third wrote.

Democrats are poised to take control of Congress after Senate candidates, including James Talarico in Texas, Roy Cooper in North Carolina, Annie Andrews in South Carolina, Josh Turek in Iowa, Adam Hamilton in Kansas and Sherrod Brown in Ohio, won key races.

“I think the Democrats did a good job; I really do,” Trump told Fox News in a shocking admission. “They fought hard. They were, you know, they've been fighting for a long time. They've been fighting me for a long time.”

Trump said earlier on Truth Social that Republicans were defeated because he wasn’t on the ballot — after repeatedly telling his supporters to vote for GOP candidates as if he were on the ballot.

Meanwhile, Katie Miller, wife of White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, blamed busy moms for not going to the polls. The mom of four admitted she also did not vote.

Trump suggested he is willing to work with Democrats on some issues, but would not compromise on immigration or transgender policies.

“The power of veto is one of the stronger powers that a president has, and they'll send over things that are insane, and I'll veto them,” Trump said in his election night interview.
