Storm Kristin killed two people overnight in Portugal, according to emergency services. One driver died after a tree fell onto his car in Vila Franca de Xira, near Lisbon. The second victim was struck by a falling pole while walking in the street in Leiria.

Beyond the fatal incidents, the storm injured several people and triggered more than 3,000 emergency callouts. Power cuts persist in many areas. In Leiria, authorities have urged residents to stay indoors, warning that streets remain badly damaged.

Figueira da Foz was among the hardest hit locations. A seaside funfair was partly destroyed, with the Ferris wheel suffering heavy damage. Across the country, dozens of schools remain closed and many roads are blocked.
