A UNIVERSITY student from Sabah recently took to TikTok to express her disappointment over her flight experiences and the high-priced tickets.

“Usually, I would take the flight home direct from Penang, but due to the sold-out tickets during Raya season, I have to take a transfer flight from Kuala Lumpur,” she said in a TikTok video under the @abbywhooo handle.

But she could not catch her flight to Sabah as her Penang-Kuala Lumpur flight was delayed.

“I cried throughout the Penang-Kuala Lumpur flight as I looked at my watch…and I needed to take transit from KLIA to klia2 when I touched down.

“I would miss the flight even when I touched down in KL.”

Holding back her tears, she called her mother and asked her what to do.

She met her sister at the airport, who was also returning to Sabah on the same day but on a different flight.

“I checked whether they are any vacant seats for her flight, but none was available,” she said.

She then checked for other flight tickets online, but the prices were high.

“I felt guilty thinking I missed a flight and cannot expect my mother to pay for another ticket.”

Eventually, her mother asked her to buy the ticket, saying, “money can be found anytime, but more importantly, you arrive safely at home.”

At the end of the clip, she said: “kamu taukah, saya rasa susah oh jadi orang Sabah di sini (I think it is hard to be a Sabahan here).”
