VfB Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeness has confirmed Wataru Endo is joining Liverpool.
The Japan international team midfielder will join Liverpool for around 18m.
Hoeness now confirms that he is losing his team captain to Liverpool.
"Wataru Endo has been given time off by the club to negotiate. He flew to England for a medical examination and was not at training today," he said.
"At the age of 30, he has been given the opportunity to go to Liverpool in the Premier League. It's a dream for him."
