Subang Airport temporarily closed after helicopter fire

ALL flights in and out of the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, Subang, have been suspended until further notice.

The suspension follows a fire involving a Kamov Ka-32S helicopter with registration number UR-CIT.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) said the incident occurred at about 12.28 pm while the helicopter was undergoing engine tests on the ground as part of maintenance activities.

Following the incident, the airport runway was closed.

"Passengers are advised to contact their respective airlines for further information on the status of their flights," it said in a statement today.

He said the incident would be investigated by the Air Accidents Investigation Bureau (AAIB) under the Ministry of Transport in accordance with Part XXVI of the Civil Aviation Regulations 2016. – August 15, 2026
