
KINABATANGAN: A man died after losing control of his four-wheel-drive and plunging into a drain along Jalan Sandakan-Lahad Datu in Kampung Paris 2 on Sunday.
Kinabatangan District Police Chief Supt Ravi Duraisamy said Salim Duduk, 57, was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical officer around 12.40 pm.
The victim, a plantation worker, was travelling with his wife towards Lahad Datu when the incident occurred.
“According to the wife, upon arriving at the location, the victim suddenly groaned in pain before the vehicle veered into the drain.
“The victim had a history of diabetes, gout, hypertension and heart disease and was receiving treatment,” he said in a statement.
The body was taken to Lahad Datu Hospital for further examination and post-mortem to determine the cause of death, adding that investigations into the incident is ongoing.
