Kota Kinabalu: Malaysia International Human Organization (MHO) and four other local NGOs on Thursday submitted a memorandum to the State National Registration Department (NRD) to trigger investigations into the sudden sharp increase in number of voters in Sabah.
MHO Secretary General Datuk Hishamuddin Hashim said the reported 53.9 per cent jump statewide, including 16,000 Indian voters in Kudat and 70 per cent spike in Keningau raised red flags pertaining to national security.
“The Election Commission (EC) collects their data from the NRD. Thus, we want them to explain the matter because if it is happening in Sabah it could happen anywhere in Malaysia.
