Very rarely do romantic couples share the same birthday. Sue Ramirez and Dominic Roque are one such pair.
On July 20, Sue turns 30, while Dominic celebrates his birthday as well. He is six years older than the actress.
It is understandable, then, that the couple has yet to map out plans for celebrating their shared birthday.
For the past several weeks, Sue has been focused on caring for her mother, who is recovering from a stroke.
The youngest of five siblings — four girls and a boy — the Kapamilya actress has always been close to her mother. Sue recalled that even when she was already 20, her mom would still literally spoon-feed her.
The two also continued sharing the same bed well into Sue’s adulthood.
Now, Sue deeply misses that mother-and-daughter closeness. Her mother’s condition has made it impossible for them to share those simple moments they once cherished.
Her mother has yet to fully regain her speech and continues to work hard to recover her mobility.
Sue described watching her mother’s struggle as heartbreaking and frustrating.
If there is any consolation, her mother’s medical expenses are covered by her late father’s insurance benefits, even though the bills have already exceeded a million pesos.
“My dad made sure we were okay. I’m sure he’s watching over us from up there,” Sue said.
As she marks her birthday, Sue has only one wish — for her mother to regain the vibrant spirit she once had.
She tearfully admitted, “My mom used to be a very strong woman, but she seems to be giving up... to be honest, I’m not prepared to lose my mom.”

“Eat Bulaga” could be an ideal launching pad for Bimby Aquino if he is serious about pursuing a career in hosting.
Lately, Bimby has been making more frequent guest co-hosting appearances.
Industry talks suggest that the team behind Dingdong Dantes has been helping guide Bimby’s career. If so, it may be worth considering giving Kris Aquino’s son a regular spot on the TV5 noontime program — a role that appears to suit him well.
A daily television presence could further strengthen Bimby’s mass appeal, particularly if he is indeed serious about eventually entering politics.
With his intelligence and charm, Bimby appears to have plenty of potential.
A chip off the old block? Sorry, Kris, but your son seems to have even more to offer.
