SANDAKAN: Sabah Umno Information Chief Datuk Suhaimi Nasir slammed some leaders for causing disunity among the nation’s multiracial community.

“There are some leaders who try to play on religious and racial sensitivities. It was not clear who he was referring to, but Umno Youth chief Dr Muhd Akmal Saleh lately became the centre of controversy over the Allah socks issue and his repeated calls to boycott KK Mart, where five pairs were allegedly found on sale.

He is currently being investigated under the Sedition Act and Communications and Multimedia Act.

Several KK Mart outlets were the targets of Molotov cocktail attacks. The owners have been charged but it was not known how the socks ended up for sale.
