Danish Iftikhar won his second SUKMA gold in the 4x100m relay as records fell across javelin, archery and shooting on day two.

NATIONAL sprinter Danish Iftikhar Muhammad Roslee will stand a chance to secure his third gold medal at the 2026 Malaysia Games (SUKMA) when he competes in the men’s 200 meters (m) tomorrow.

The 19-year-old was part of the Johor quartet that won the gold medal in the men’s 4×100 m relay today, while setting a new SUKMA record.

Tomorrow will also see women’s sprinter Izzatul Musfirah Ahmad Kamal, who won the women’s 100 m yesterday, competing for her second gold of the games in the 200 m final tomorrow.

Meanwhile, records fell in succession throughout the second day of competition, including in the men’s javelin event, where Chai Kai Le set a new record.

In archery, new records were set in both the men’s and women’s 50 m compound event by Terengganu’s Muhammad Akmal Danial Baharuddin and Sabah’s Catherine Looi Mei Qi Abdullah, while in shooting Nazirul Iqbal Roszaini of Perak set a new record in the men’s 10 m air rifle event.

As of 10 pm, Selangor remains at the top of the medal tally with 14 gold, 15 silver and nine bronze, followed by Terengganu (13-20-7) and Johor (11-12-10).
