For tennis, Sharifah Elsa Wan Abdul Rahman defeated Perak’s Shihomi Li Xuan Leong in the women’s individual event.

The 21-year-old won 6-1, 6-1 in the final event at 9.30am, at the Sarawak Lawn Tennis Association in Kuching.

Meanwhile, P. Luthrabalan also won gold in silambam’s men’s poruthal category (under 55kg).

Taking place at 9.30am at the Hikmah Exchange Event Centre in Kuching, the 17-year-old scored 27 points after defeating Sarawak’s Asyraff Aqil Mohamad Zainurrin Azm, who earned 16 points.

At 10.30am, his fellow compatriot M. Mahendran also won gold in the men’s poruthal category (between 65kg to 75kg) at the same venue. The 18-year-old scored 31 points against Penang’s K. Githan’s 18 points.

The women’s 4x100m freestyle team, comprising Morgan Eleven Teo Kai Cheng, Yoong Jia Jia, Lim Shun Qi, and Khew Zi Xian scored gold with a time of 3:55.84s at the Pandelela Rinong Aquatics Centre in Kuching, breaking the Sukma record previously set by Sabah in 2008.

G. Mathan Raj earned silver in the men’s 3,000m steeplechase with a finish of 10:02.12s at Sarawak Stadium in Kuching.

After a slow start in Sukma, Selangor is gaining ground, just as state executive councillor for youth, sports, and entrepreneurship Mohd Najwan Halimi predicted.

With two days left until the end of Sukma 2024, Selangor has garnered medals in a number of events, including archery, bowling, decathlon, fencing, golf, karate, lawn bowls, pencak silat, petanque, silambam, sprinting, swimming, tenpin bowling, weightlifting, and wushu.
