Sultan Pahang calls on SMEs to obtain halal certification to boost consumer trust and expand market reach, emphasising its role as a long-term investment

KUANTAN: Sultan Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has called on small and medium enterprise (SME) entrepreneurs to seize the opportunity to obtain halal certification. Baginda stated this would strengthen consumer confidence and expand business markets.

Baginda bertitah halal certification is not a burden but a long-term investment guaranteeing quality and integrity. It also opens wider market opportunities at national and international levels.

Baginda highlighted the positive step of accelerating the halal certification approval process. This initiative now takes about 30 days compared to 90 days previously.

Baginda delivered these remarks via a post on the Pahang Royal Facebook page. The titah was made during the proclamation of Masjid Kampung Simpang Tebing Tinggi in Jerantut.

Sultan Pahang also stated the Pahang Islamic Religious Department (JAIP) is always ready to provide guidance to traders seeking halal certification. Baginda emphasised Muslims must always preserve the boundaries of halal and haram in all life affairs.

Baginda stressed the halal concept is not just about food but has become a life ecosystem. It encompasses various sectors including business, finance, medicine, logistics, and overall lifestyle.

“Halal is not just about a logo or stamp on a product. Halal is about trust, integrity, and blessings in life,” titah baginda.

Sultan Pahang also called on traders, manufacturers, restaurant operators, and all parties in the halal industry chain to uphold this trust responsibly. Baginda urged them not to play with the sensitivities of Muslims.

Baginda hopes the relevant authorities will continue to strengthen enforcement against any violations in the halal certification system. Baginda called for stern action against parties attempting to manipulate the system for personal gain.

In a separate post, Al-Sultan Abdullah advised women in the state not to rush into marriage decisions, especially involving foreign partners. Baginda noted a recent increasing trend of marriages between local women and foreign nationals.

Baginda stated this is not wrong if conducted according to syarak principles and complies with the law. Islam does not close the door to cross-border marriages if built on faith, honesty, and responsibility.

Sultan Pahang reminded that mistakes in choosing a partner can have long-lasting effects on family life. Women need to examine a prospective partner’s background, employment, and true capabilities before marriage.

Al-Sultan Abdullah bertitah families should be a fortress of advice and guidance for their children. Major decisions like marriage require mature consideration.

“Indeed, marriage should be a door to happiness and not a path to hardship. Choose a life partner with a sound mind and strong faith so the family built brings peace and blessings,” titah baginda.
