There’s just something about summer – the salt-kissed breeze, golden sunsets, and that irresistible feeling of freedom. It’s the time of year when we shed our inhibitions, let our hair down, and live boldly. Now imagine capturing that heady, sun-soaked energy in a bottle – that’s exactly what YSL Beauty has done with the new YSL LIBRE L’Eau Nue.

Fronted by global icon and YSL Beauty’s Global Ambassador Dua Lipa, YSL LIBRE L’Eau Nue marks a bold new chapter for the LIBRE family as the Maison’s first alcohol-free fragrance. It’s a bold move – one that feels perfectly in line with the free-spirited ethos of LIBRE. This latest flanker dives deeper into the radiant heart of mandarin blossom, expanding the scent’s boundaries with a burst of fresh energy – perfect for long summer days and even longer nights.
To celebrate the debut of YSL LIBRE L’Eau Nue, we were whisked away to the stunning Anantara Desaru for an unforgettable sun-drenched escape with YSL Beauty. The guest list was a who’s who of regional style stars, including Jane Chuck, Juwei Teoh, Jack Goh, Lisha Ho, Sherry Amin, Ofiellia Iskandar, Nia Atasha, and from across the Causeway, Saffron Sharpe, Iman Fandi, Hannah Cheng Bradshaw, and more.
Notes of freedom
On the trip, we had an exclusive fragrance masterclass, where we delved into the DNA of the new scent. Inspired by the sultry warmth of Mediterranean summers, YSL LIBRE L’Eau Nue opens with a bright, zesty burst of green mandarin and juicy Calabrian bergamot, leading into a heart of orange blossom and lavender – the signature of the LIBRE family. The result is a glowing, solar fragrance that captures the blissful feeling of summer freedom.
Of course, YSL LIBRE L’Eau Nue isn’t just about the scent – it’s also about the skin it touches. In collaboration with master perfumers Anne Filipo and Carlos Benaim, YSL Beauty has taken a bold step forward, creating its first oil-in-water, alcohol-free formulation. Inspired by Moroccan skin rituals, this innovative blend not only scents the skin but also leaves it subtly luminous – a soft, sunlit glow that feels like an extension of the fragrance itself.
It’s a confident, forward-thinking approach that feels perfectly at home in the LIBRE universe – breaking boundaries and rewriting the rules, just like the women who wear it.
Couture meets chemistry

Naturally, a scent this bold needed an equally striking bottle. Designed by Suzanne Dalton, the familiar, angular LIBRE silhouette has been reinvented in a smooth, opaque white ceramic, radiating a sleek, sunlit energy while keeping the delicate formula protected.
The iconic YSL Cassandre emblem wraps tightly around the glass – a feat of engineering in itself – while a precision-cut V at the front echoes the sharp, tailored lines of a Saint Laurent tuxedo. Topped with a slanted black cap and a touch of golden chain detailing, it’s a bottle as bold and free as the YSL woman herself – strong, confident, and unafraid to break the rules.
To wrap up the trip, we gathered for a sunset dinner, where the air was alive with the wafts of YSL LIBRE L’Eau Nue – a fitting scent for a night celebrating freedom and fearless energy. We tried our hand at mocktail-making – a playful nod to the alcohol-free formula – before dancing the night away under the stars, with LSA100 alum DJ Ashley Lau spinning the perfect summer soundtrack. It was a scene straight out of a summer dream, with everyone perfectly capturing the bold, liberated spirit of the new LIBRE fragrance.
