Supermodel Barbara Palvin defends runway return just weeks after giving birth

Model Barbara Palvin has responded to criticism over her return to the runway six weeks after giving birth.

The 33-year-old and her husband Dylan Sprouse, welcomed daughter Sylvie on 7 September. Following her appearance at the 2026 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, Palvin noted that every mother's experience is unique, despite suggestions she ought to be resting.

Speaking to E! News, she said: "Honestly, there were 50-50 with the reactions. Some people loved that I was back, and some people were like, maybe I should be resting at home. Everyone's postpartum journey is different, and this is just mine."

Palvin admitted feeling overwhelmed by the response, but highlighted her strong support network: "I'm lucky that I have the support from my husband and my family, and they were able to get me there."

She also urged other new mothers: "Don't be scared to ask for help."

Meanwhile, Sprouse expressed pride in his wife while questioning why his cheering in the audience went viral.

He said: "I'm as proud as I could possibly be. It’s a difficult thing to do. It shouldn't be extraordinary to cheer for someone that you love walking and doing something that you're proud of them for. For partners, just clap and cheer. I don't know why some people clutch their pearls about it."

Palvin was simply glad her husband made the event after filming, saying her reaction upon seeing him was: "That he caught his flight and he didn't miss the show. He was coming home from filming, so I was worried he's not gonna make it."

Sprouse, 34, previously admitted he did not know where his wife finds her energy, telling E!: "I don't know where she finds the energy.

"I'm a tired guy all the time, and obviously having a newborn makes you more tired.

"Barbara's just up and in super mum mode, and now she's walking the show. I'm like, 'Where does it come from?'"

He pondered that "some people are just better than other people", adding he is "extremely proud of my wife".
