THE Suria KLCC Group is rolling out Deepavali celebrations across three shopping centres, featuring Indian palace-inspired decorations, cultural performances, interactive workshops and festive shopping rewards.

The celebrations at Suria KLCC, Alamanda Shopping Centre and Mesra Mall began on Oct 23 and will run until Nov 11, with activities and promotions varying across the three locations.

The initiative also aims to offer international visitors an opportunity to experience Malaysia’s multicultural traditions as the country welcomes tourists under Visit Malaysia 2026.

At Suria KLCC, the Centre Court has been transformed into an Indian Palace Courtyard featuring traditional royal architectural elements, golden latticework, silk accents and a grand pavilion.

Two 10-foot peacock structures frame the entrance, while an LED screen and water features add to the festive setting.

The mall will host festive dance performances on Nov 1, 7 and 8, showcasing traditional Indian dance through rhythmic footwork and expressive movements.

Visitors can also participate in a Kolam Tart Decorating Workshop by Flaaah on Oct 31 and Nov 1, 8 and 9, where they can decorate the brand’s limited-edition Masala Chai Custard Tart with colourful kolam-inspired patterns.

Participants can also enjoy an exclusive 20% discount on a full box of tarts at the Flaaah outlet.

Meanwhile, Yves Rocher will conduct its Pleines Natures: Paper Bouquet Workshop on Oct 31 and Nov 1, 7 and 8, allowing participants to create paper bouquets and experience the brand’s latest fragrance from its Pleines Natures collection.

Suria KLCC Sdn Bhd executive director and chief executive officer Francis Tan said the celebrations were designed to reflect the spirit of Deepavali open houses, where everyone is welcome to share in the festivities.

“Deepavali in Malaysia has always been about the open house – the door is open, there’s food on the table, and everyone is welcome. That’s the feeling we wanted to bring into our malls,” he said.

Tan said the palace courtyard concept was intended to provide visitors with a welcoming space to enjoy cultural performances, participate in workshops and take festive photographs before gathering for meals at the malls’ restaurants and cafés.
