
KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) seized smartphones and chainsaw tools suspected of being counterfeit in two operations here, and in Kota Marudu.
On July 27, a team of Sabah KDPN enforcement officers and two Vivo registered trademark owner representatives conducted operations at three premises here.
In the raid, they confiscated 818 units of Vivo brand smartphones of various models, 253 units of Vivo brand data cables and 104 units of Vivo brand travel quick chargers, which were believed to be counterfeit with a seizure value of RM137,163.50.
In Kota Marudu, another team of KPDN enforcement officers and a Stihl registered trademark owner representative raided two premises on July 26.

Read more The raiding team found and seized two units of chainsaws, 41 units of saw blades, 22 saw blades and 62 spark plugs, all suspected counterfeit, with a value of RM8,471.
The total value of the seizure for these two operations was RM145,634.50, and action was taken under the Trademarks Act 2019.
