SHAH ALAM - Renowned film director Syamsul Yusof has reportedly filed for divorce from his wife Ira Kazar at the Gombak Timur Syariah Lower Court in Kuala Lumpur, today.
According to Malay daily Harian Metro, the drastic step was taken due to irreconcilable differences in their marriage.
"There is no longer any understanding between them," a source revealed.
Rumours of their divorce surfaced in October last year. However, neither party provided any official statement or response.
Syamsul, 40 and Ira, 29, whose full name is Faghirah Fatini Kazaruddin, tied the knot on Jan 6, last year in Southern Thailand.
Syamsul confirmed their marriage through a video posted on Instagram the same month.
Following the marriage news, Syamsul's then first wife actress Puteri Sarah Liyana Kamaruddin filed for divorce, which was finalised on June 14, the same year.
