KUALA LUMPUR - Filmmaker Syamsul Yusof has pronounced "talak satu" against his wife, actress Puteri Sarah Liyana, ending her divorce bid.
"I divorce you Puteri Sarah," said the 'Mat Kilau' director before syarie judge Akmalluddin Ilyas at the Syariah lower court, here, today.
After the divorce pronouncement, Puteri Sarah, 38, who was present in court clad in a grey baju kurung did not show any emotional reaction.
Earlier, during the proceeding, the court allowed Puteri Sarah Liyana's divorce bid against her 39-year-old husband.
Syamsul and Puteri Sarah Liyana whose full name is Puteri Sarah Liyana Megat Kamaruddin tied the knot on March 8, 2014.
They have two children who were Syaikhul Islam, 6, and Sumayyah, 4.
Rumours of the couple's marital rift surfaced four years ago, but Syamsul has never talked about the matter.
On Jan 6, Syamsul revealed his marriage with Ira Kazar in Thailand.
The 'Lu Pikirlah Sendiri de Movie' actress then filed for divorce from Syamsul through Messrs Akberdin & Co on Jan 16.
