In the wake of a recent storm that struck Marang, Terengganu MB Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar visited the area to assess the damage. During his visit, he took the opportunity to address a pressing issue that has recently come to light: the inappropriate attire of some tourists in the region.

Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar highlighted the importance of respecting local customs and dress codes, urging both tourists and residents to be mindful of the cultural norms that define Terengganu. His remarks were prompted by reports of two half-naked tourists spotted at Marang beach just days earlier, causing a stir among the local community.

In his public address, the Menteri Besar acknowledged that many tourists might not be aware of the local customs and regulations. He emphasized the need for civility and kindness when addressing such situations.

Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar also stressed that the responsibility of upholding these dress codes does not rest solely on enforcement authorities. He encouraged residents to take an active role in politely reminding tourists about appropriate attire.

The recent incident at Marang beach serves as a reminder of the importance of cultural sensitivity and awareness. As Terengganu continues to welcome tourists from around the world, fostering an environment of mutual respect and understanding is essential. By working together, both residents and visitors can ensure that Terengganu remains a beautiful and culturally rich destination for everyone to enjoy.
