Genoa defender Koray Gunter is interesting Newcastle United.
Calciomercato says Newcastle are willing to pay 9m in January to bring Gunter to England.
Currently on loan at Hellas Verona from Genoa, it is claimed that Newcastle officials were at Tuesday's clash with Udinese and were impressed with the defender in the 0-0 draw.
However, the Evening Chronicle says a January move would surely seem unlikely, given how well-stocked Newcastle are with centre-backs.
They have Jamaal Lascelles, Fabian Schar, Federico Fernandez and Ciaran Clark, while Florian Lejeune is also closing in on a return to fitness.
