
KOTA KINABALU: Five universities from Taiwan have signed an MoU with four Sabah tourism associations to collaborate on agro- and community-based tourism initiatives.
The ceremony was witnessed by Assistant Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Joniston Bangkuai here on Wednesday.
Sabah's signatories included tourism associations from Kiulu, Tambunan, Tenom, and Kota Belud, while Taiwanese institutions included Dayeh University and the Taiwan Agro and Rural Tourism Association.

Joniston said the collaboration would build local capacity and support sustainable rural tourism through knowledge-sharing and digital strategies.
