TAWAU: A married couple was charged at the Magistrate’s Court, here, Friday, with injuring each other.

Norfatihah Boino, 28, was accused of voluntarily causing hurt to her husband, Amri Tajuddin, 33, at a house in Taman Kinabutan, here, at 6.15pm on Jan 11.

Amri was charged with causing hurt to Norfatihah at the same place, time and date.

However, no plea was recorded when the charge was read separately before Assistant Registrar Puspawati Sangut.

Puspawati fixed Feb 15 as the next mention date for Norfatihah and Feb 26 for Amri.

Meanwhile, a man, Ismail Hussin, was also charged with voluntarily hurting his wife, Farrahzeela Hussin, in Kampung Tanjung Batu Laut, at 10am, on Jan 6.

No plea was recorded from Ismail when the charge was read before Puspawati.

Ismail was offered a bail of RM2,000 with two sureties and the mention date is fixed for Feb 15.

All accused were charged under Section 323 of the Penal Code and punishable under Section 326A of the Penal Code.

The offence carries a jail term of up to a year or RM2,000 fine or both, and the jail term can be up to two times the imprisonment under Section 323 of the Penal Code.

Prosecution Officer ASP Jeffrey Kadisun appeared for the prosecution, while duty counsel Jhassary P Kang represented all three accused.
