TAWAU: A man in his 30s was arrested in Tawau for allegedly threatening to harm his mother with a machete after she refused to give him money.
District police chief ACP Jasmin Hussin said the incident occurred around 11.10pm Monday at a house on Jalan Chester.
The suspect, known for previous aggressive behavior, including property damage, was arrested at 2am Tuesday near a building in Tawau town following a report by his sibling.
The case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code.
In a separate case, a foreign man in his late 20s was detained after going on a rampage in Taman Ria. The case is being investigated under multiple sections of the Penal Code and the Immigration Act.
