
TAWAU: An elderly man is believed to have been devoured by a crocodile at Kg Mas-Mas Nasib Kita, here, on Wednesday.
Tawau Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) Chief Jemishin Ujin said the incident happened around 4am when the victim, Addi Bangsa, was getting into a boat.
He said a search and rescue (SAR) operation was launched Thursday after an emergency call was received at 7.03am.
“A team of five officers and personnel as well as a utility vehicle and an aluminium boat were deployed to the location about 70km from the Fire and Rescue Station.

Read more “We conducted a SAR operation by employing the ‘surface searching’ method with assistance from six policemen within a radius of 3km from the river mouth,” he said, Thursday.
“So far, the victim is yet to be found and the operation was postponed at 6pm on Thursday and will continue today (Friday),” he added.
