TAWAU: A man was talked out of his plan to jump off the third floor of a building at Jalan Habib Sheikh, about 9.25pm, Wednesday.
Tawau Fire and Rescue Department Chief Julius John Stephens Jr said the 38-year-old was persuaded to change his mind by his men and Health Ministry officials about half an hour later.
“Upon receiving a call at 9.31pm, we dispatched seven of our staff to the location.
“When we arrived, he was about to jump. However, we together with health officials managed to coax him out of his intention,” he added.
He said the man was later handed over to the Psychiatric Department of the hospital.
The operation ended at 10pm.
