Campus life is increasingly about more than lectures, assignments and exams. Universities are also looking at how shared experiences can support wellbeing and build stronger connections among students.

That idea was at the centre of the Taylor’s lululemon collaboration, which brought students, staff and alumni together at Taylor’s Lakeside Campus in Subang Jaya for MOVE · STRETCH · RESET on 6 October 2026.

The initiative combined physical activity, wellness and community participation, giving the Taylor’s community another way to connect outside the classroom.

Nearly 200 Join Campus Wellness Activities

Close to 200 students, employees and alumni participated in a three-kilometre community run around the campus.

The programme also included a guided yoga session beside the Taylor’s lake, led by lululemon ambassador Jenifer Alicia Ooi. Rather than positioning wellness as a standalone activity, the event placed movement within a wider campus experience.

This matters as educational institutions pay more attention to the environment surrounding learning. Academic development remains central, but opportunities to connect, exercise and participate in campus life can also shape the student experience.

Building Connections Beyond the Classroom

MOVE · STRETCH · RESET was designed to bring different parts of the Taylor’s community together.

Alumni who returned for the programme included Secret Recipe Cakes & Café Group CEO Patrick Sim, national karate exponent Shahmalarani Chandran, JPC Padel Co-founder and General Manager Eisha Izaddeen, Union Strength Gyms founder Carlos Villa, and entrepreneur Janine Chacko Villa.

Their participation added another layer to the gathering. Students were not only taking part alongside their peers and lecturers, but also sharing the space with former students who have moved into business, entrepreneurship and sport.

For universities, maintaining these relationships after graduation can help create longer-lasting communities rather than connections that end when students complete their studies.

Taylor’s and lululemon Add a Lifestyle Element

The collaboration also introduced nine lululemon pieces featuring Taylor’s branding.

The selection covers tops, bottoms, pullovers, hoodies and accessories. lululemon bottles that can be personalised through laser engraving are also available. The items are offered exclusively to the Taylor’s community through the Taylor’s Merchandise Shop.

While co-branded merchandise is not new to higher education, the approach shows how universities are exploring lifestyle partnerships as another way to strengthen campus identity.

For Taylor’s, the clothing and accessories extend the experience beyond a single event. Students, staff and alumni can carry that connection into their everyday lives.

Why Campus Wellbeing Matters

The wider value of the initiative lies in how wellness is being incorporated into community-building.

University years can be demanding, and creating accessible opportunities for movement and social participation gives students more ways to engage with campus life. Activities involving staff and alumni can also reduce the boundaries between different parts of an education community.

There is an economic angle too. Partnerships between education institutions and established lifestyle brands show how the student experience is expanding into areas such as wellness, sport and community engagement.

Taylor’s Education Group itself operates across Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, serving close to 40,000 students annually with an alumni network of more than 150,000, according to information supplied by the group.

That regional footprint makes community engagement increasingly relevant as education groups look at ways to maintain relationships across institutions and generations.

A Broader View of the University Experience

MOVE · STRETCH · RESET reflects a simple shift in how campus communities can be built.

Learning still happens in classrooms, labs and other academic spaces. Yet university life is also shaped by the people students meet, the activities they share and the sense of belonging they develop along the way.

For Malaysia’s higher education sector, initiatives that support wellbeing and meaningful participation can complement academic development. They also offer institutions another way to keep alumni connected after graduation.

The Taylor’s lululemon collaboration is one example of that broader approach, bringing education, wellness and community into the same campus experience.
