Travis Kelce has spoken about his gargantuan wedding to Taylor Swift for the first time.
The Kansas City Chiefs star, 36, was speaking to reporters Wednesday at training camp when he admitted that his secretive wedding to the “Opalite” singer was quite the highlight of his off-season.
“Best night of my life,” Kelce said of the wedding.
“I appreciate everybody who came out and celebrated and had fun with us,” he added.
Kelce said it was “a crazy night” and that the evening was “full of a lot of celebration,” before telling reporters he’s now turning his focus to “football, baby.”
Swift and Kelce’s star-studded July 3 wedding the New York City arena Madison Square Garden was officiated by Adam Sandler, with a guest list that included Hugh Grant, Dakota Johnson, Tom Hanks, Emma Stone, Selena Gomez and Ed Sheeran.
Millie Bobby Brown, Brad Pitt, Jennifer Lopez, Julianne Moore, Graham Norton, Lena Dunham, the Haim sisters, Jennifer Lawrence, Jack Antonoff, Ben Stiller, Miranda Lambert and Steven Spielberg were also in attendance.
The couple has been secretive about the details of their wedding in the build-up and aftermath, but People reported that Paul McCartney serenaded guests with the Beatles’ 1963 classic “I Want to Hold Your Hand” at the reception, while Stevie Nicks and Bon Jovi are also believed to have performed.
The huge event was planned with the help of elusive celebrity wedding planner Mark Seed, and Swift chose not to have a bridal party, instead asking her brother, Austin, to be her “man of honor.”
Kelce and Swift were both dressed in designs by Jonathan Anderson for Christian Dior, though no pictures of Swift or her dress have been shared yet.
Since the wedding, Kelce had been facing allegations that he had fallen out of shape after an AI-generated clip circulated online depicting him as having gained weight.
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid defended Kelce at a press conference last week, shooting down any reports of the tight end having a so-called “dad body.”
“I know everybody’s out there saying he’s got the ‘dad body’ and all this stuff, but he looks the same to me that he’s always looked,” Reid said, adding that Kelce has been “just playing like crazy” and “doing a nice job with everything” since training camp started in late July.
“He’s focused in and ready to go and I appreciate that,” Reid said. He added that Kelce has “been here 14 years and wants to be out there every snap.”
