Tuaran: A 48-year-old teacher sustained injuries when a lorry-laden with cooking gas cylinders collided with her Proton X70 and an Isuzu DMax near Kampung Simpangan Lama, in Tamparuli, here, Tuesday.

The impact caused the lorry to plunge down a 30- metre ravine, while the Proton got lodged against a tree near the edge, resulting in the woman to sustain injury to her chest.

She was subsequently taken to the Tuaran Hospital for treatment.

The 46-year-old lorry driver and the 49-year-old DMax driver, escaped unscathed in the 3.30pm accident.

Tuaran District Police Chief Supt Noraidin Ag Maidin said preliminary investigations showed that the lorry veered out of control into the opposite lane before crashing into the two cars.

Noraidin reminded motorists to exercise caution and good road etiquette while on the road.

Those with information about the accident are encouraged to contact Sergeant Jafri @ Awang Ali Jaoar at 012-8193015 or the nearest police station to facilitate investigations.
